You’ve probably seen it. It’s a pretty clever commercial actually. The guy who starts dancing by himself in public then receives the text on his “slow” cell phone with the “new” start time. Yes? No? Either way, it’s a representation of a “flash mob” who by Wikipedia’s definition is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire. I’ve decided to organize my first “flash-mob” performance here in the Springs for next Friday. Here are the details;
Date : Friday, July 1st
Location : Southeast and Southwest corners of Pikes Peak and Tejon
Time : 5:15pm sharp
Instructions : 1) Point at the person nearest to you and yell “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful!”. 2) Immediately turn around and simulate hula-hooping for 25 seconds. 3) Finish with Tarzan’s scream.
Hope to see you there!
